Time To Celebrate 50 Posts

Made it to 50! Kinda crazy. I certainly haven’t posted near as much in the last few years as I have in the past but I’m exited to share that I have reached the 50 post milestone.

If ever your wondering why there has been a slow down in the writing? Well is just a simple as a previous post I wrote about: When life gets busy, just concentrate on what is important. Between work, young kids a move, home repairs and chipping away at a startup all while believing in keeping things simple, something has to give.

The coolest thing about having this blog is seeing its reach and moving the needle on waste reduction.

Enjoying the impact

The most viewed post and the one that has had the biggest impact was the one I wrote about fixing a Weber BBQ. By far, it gets the most clicks! Clicks in Canada, the US and even more in New Zealand and Australia… But the greatest thing is seeing barbecues avoiding the landfill locally, right in front of my eyes in real time. Two at work that just keep getting used and multiple at friends places. Seeing friends that aren’t even that waste conscious being truly psyched to fix their Weber Q is pretty cool. Great for them and rewarding for me to see a fairly large item avoid the landfill or at least prolong its life before its final demise. Hopefully, once it is truly inoperable, it makes it into metal recycling.

Zero Waste appears to get the most hits

From helping parents with low waste lunch ideas or low waste containers for their kids the zero waste category seems to get the most clicks. Maybe you are looking for a stylish low waste coffee cup or just trying to reduce your footprint, hopefully there is some how to tips to help.

Positive Change is always welcome

A Greenwashing primer

This is certainly a thing and people are getting really tired of it.

How to Spot Eco-Friendly Products and Avoid Greenwashing” is a helpful post in this realm.

Fast Fashion, a hard one to quit

This one was my daughter’s recommendation but it hasn’t seen much traction. Sometimes I think people just don’t want to learn about this massive problem, price point is such a large issue for so many. Check it out, maybe you will see things differently.

Why Fast Fashion Should Quickly be Forgotten!

Sharing a post about the social media and minimalism on a minimalism group was pretty funny. It sure got some people wound up. Discussion is a good thing, the polarizing effect isn’t.
